What Can Make Each Day Great
The key to life is relaxing and enjoying each and every precious minute throughout the day. Today’s world is filled with hustle and bustle, and we do not seem to have a minute to spare for ourselves. Possibly computer games, DVD players, and the like have made us forget about the sweetness of just sitting and talking, and thus manifesting a life filled with everyday joys.
In order to get the most out of every day, you have to look after yourself. Having a daily schedule is a necessity, in order to make sure you give yourself some ‘me’ time. So what can we do to make sure we get the most out of every day?
Below are some techniques that may help:
Release Unreasonable Expectations
At the end of your day say to yourself ‘I did the best I possibly could and made the most of today, tomorrow is a brand new day.’ Don’t beat yourself up about some minor things you didn’t accomplish. Your goal isn’t really to achieve a completely empty To Do List; there’s always more to do, and doing things - not being bored - is what keeps life interesting. What matters is that you made the most out of today.
Your Daily To-Do-List
Don’t let your daily chores pile up. Add joy to these repetitive tasks by keeping your approach to them light-hearted and creative. Sing along to the radio while you are doing the dishes, dance along with the vacuum as you push it around the house. Stop grumbling about having to do these mundane chores.
Take Regular Breaks
Learn a quick relaxation technique, and unwind if you are beginning to feel tense. If at work say hello with a smile to everyone you pass on your way to the coffee machine; if at home, take a stroll outside. It sounds simplistic, but one of the best things you can do during these short breaks is also the simplest: breath. Take the time to clear your mind, close your eyes, and breath slowly for 60 to 90 seconds. It can greatly reduce the stress of your days.
Make Time for Things You Enjoy
Make it a point to set some time aside just for you. This includes basically anything that you really enjoy doing and puts a smile on your face.
Look At the Bright Side
Try to have a positive attitude towards to life even when things are not particularly going the way you want them to, rather than looking at it in a totally negative way. This can be easier said than done, but it is actually the most important aspect of enjoying each day of your life. If you ca not get into a better mood on your own, look online at YouTube or Flickr or other popular sites, for movies, music, or photographs that bring a smile to your face.
If all else fails, just sit or stand up straight, breath deeply, and force the muscles of your face into a smile. You’ll be amazed at how easily smiling can lead to happiness, rather than the other way around. With these few tricks up your sleeve, you’re well on your way to making the most of each and every day of all the days you’re lucky enough to spend on Earth.
